Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 27, 2026
This policy describes what happens to information when you read vtr.us, a blog about indoor autonomous robots, artificial intelligence and computer vision. In it, the operator means whoever runs the blog, and we and us mean the operator.
What our servers record
When a page is requested, the systems that deliver Vtr keep standard logs. An entry can hold your IP address, the time, the page you asked for, your browser and device type, and the page that sent you here. These logs help us keep the site online, investigate errors and automated abuse, and see in broad terms whether readers prefer robotics pieces or vision tutorials.
Cookies and similar storage
Vtr may set cookies or use similar browser storage. Some make pages load correctly. Others, only where enabled, count audiences, remember a display choice, support advertising or note which link led you to a retailer or a vendor so that an affiliate referral can be credited. Anything set by an outside provider is governed by that provider’s own practices.
Controls you already have
Your browser lets you block, limit or clear cookies, and you can use private windows or tracking-protection tools. If your browser sends a global privacy or do-not-track signal, we will honour it as an opt-out wherever the tools we use are able to. Blocking certain storage could change how embedded demos or videos behave.
When you email us
If you write to [email protected], we receive your address and whatever you put in the message, such as a correction to a robotics article or a question about a vision method. We use it to reply, to fix the page and to keep a record of the exchange. We do not sell messages and will not publish one without asking you first. Please leave out images of identifiable people, workplace footage and confidential technical data.
Newsletters and forms
If Vtr offers a newsletter or a form, what you enter is used for that purpose, for example sending the updates you requested. Each mailing explains how to unsubscribe, and you may also ask us by email to remove you.
Outside providers
Running a site like this relies on others. These can include hosting and content delivery, analytics, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded material such as video players, code repositories or demo widgets. They may receive technical details of your visit so their service can function, and they handle that data under their own policies.
Retention
Server logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted or reduced to anonymous counts. Emails are kept while they remain useful for answering you, correcting an article or meeting a legal duty, and are deleted afterwards.
Asking about your data
Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, object to some uses or withdraw consent you gave. Send your request to [email protected] and describe what you want done. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within the period the law sets.
Younger readers
Vtr is aimed at a general technical audience, and students are welcome to read it, but it is not directed at children under 13. Nothing on the blog is designed to gather details from a child, and a parent who finds that a young reader has emailed us can ask for the message to be deleted.
Keeping data safe
We use secure connections and limit who can open the inbox. Even so, no method of sending or storing data online is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee complete protection.
Data crossing borders
Providers behind the site may process information in other countries, where rules may differ from those at home. By using Vtr you accept that your data may be handled in this way.
Updates to this policy
Tracking tools, embedded video services and privacy rules all evolve, so this page will be edited when the way Vtr handles data changes. The effective date above marks the current version, and continuing to read Vtr after a revision means you accept it.
