Terms of Use

What using Vtr means

Reading Vtr, following its tutorials or relying on its comparisons means you accept the terms on this page as the basis for that use. They are short because the blog is simple: articles about indoor robots, artificial intelligence and computer vision, offered for you to read. Questions can go to [email protected].

Information, not engineering sign-off

Articles on Vtr are general information and personal analysis. They are not professional engineering, safety certification or legal advice. A method that works on a hobby rover in a living room may fail around people, stairs, glass walls or heavy equipment. Before you put a robot, a camera system or a trained model into a real workplace, home or public space, test it carefully, follow the manufacturer’s instructions and safety guidance, and consider privacy and consent where cameras capture people. Model accuracy figures and product notes here are not guarantees of performance.

Who owns what

The writing, structure and original graphics on Vtr belong to the operator or are used with permission. You can read, link to and quote a short passage with clear credit. Code, datasets and papers mentioned in articles stay under their own licences and belong to their creators. Copying full articles or using them in a commercial product needs written permission.

Using the site properly

Do not probe the site for weaknesses, flood it with scraping or automated traffic, plant malicious code or use it to send spam. Do not use it for unlawful purposes, including building surveillance tools that breach other people’s rights. Access may be restricted where that protects the site and its readers.

Anything you send us

When you email a correction, a topic idea or a question, you confirm that you have the right to share it. You allow us to read it and use the idea to improve Vtr, with no duty to answer or publish.

Sponsors, affiliate links and the sites they open

Vtr may show advertising and may include affiliate links, which can earn the operator a small commission without raising your price. They do not shape what an article concludes. Links may point to robot makers, camera and sensor vendors, cloud machine-learning services, code repositories, research papers or retailers. Those places sit outside this blog’s control, and their prices, claims, licences and data practices are their own matter, so check what they say before you buy, install or sign up.

No warranty and limits on liability

Vtr is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, the operator makes no promise that the content is accurate, complete or uninterrupted, and is not liable for loss, damage to equipment or harm arising from using the site or acting on an article. Where a consumer protection rule gives you a right that a contract cannot take away, that right remains, and so does any liability the law does not let the operator exclude.

Changes and severability

Because robotics tools and vision libraries change quickly, these terms and the site may be edited whenever needed, and the edited version applies from the moment it appears here. If a part is held unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply.
